The college started as a Nursing Assistant Training School in March 1964 to prepare students to provide general nursing care. The college was granted tertiary education status in September 2005 by the Ghana National Accreditation Board. It was granted accreditation as a tertiary institution and registered according to the tertiary institutions regulations of 2010 [LI 1984, regulation 14 (1)] by the name NURSES’ TRAINING COLLEGE, HO on 1st September, 2013. The college is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with professional accreditation by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC).
